“Digger”

We purchased Digger out of Emmett, Idaho. His father is a Master Hunter and both his sire and dam lines have a decent number of field trial lineage. This includes almost all of his great grand parents. Since our school district mascot is the Sugar Salem “Diggers” due to all the beets that were cultivated in our area many years ago, that is what we decided to name the pup. Officially his name is Spirit’s Way Da Go Digger Blue but we call him Digger, of course.

At this time he is 2 years old and is about 85 lbs. He has a pretty aggressive attitude about retrieving and seems to be fairly dominant in character. When I picked him I didn’t pick the largest pup in the litter but tried to get the most gregarious and outgoing. I certainly got that.

His parents both have good hips and eyes and are both CNM and EIC clear. His hips are cleared as “Good” and his elbows are cleared as “Normal” through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). He is, of course CNM and EIC clear by parentage.

Digger is a deep, glossy chocolate in color and has the large, blocky head characteristic of many in his line.
